Shawn Roy,
President and CEO
Shawn Roy has over thirteen years of experience in the field of high temperature metals and clean technologies. Shawn began his career in the maintenance department of Belcher Malleable Iron (Advanced cast) in Easton Massachusetts. At Belcher Shawn acquired skills in the maintenance and operations of many thermal processing foundry machines including: Channel and Coreless Induction melting, Heat treating, Core making etc. Shawn improved, modified, and modernized the existing foundry equipment. Using Allen Bradley software, Shawn wrote programs to bring new Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs) to equipment with antiquated control systems, thus improving efficiency.
In 2007 Shawn left Belcher to help design, construct, and operate two gasification units in New Bedford Massachusetts for Ze-gen Inc. As the plant manager of Ze-gen, he oversaw design, maintenance, material selection, testing, and all other aspects of pilot plant operation. As a former consumer and end user of many refractory and thermal processing systems, Shawn saw a critical need for a high quality refractory supplier. In 2012, Shawn founded the New England Refractory Company to bring high quality materials, service, and a consumer based attention to detail to the market place.
